OLD BUSINESS
Mrs. DiCamillo contacted Nicholas Vallas, Bartlett Tree Experts, regarding the timeline for the dogwood pruning at town hall, memorial flowering cherry at the police station and two oak trees along the shore. She asked him to schedule the dogwoods before Memorial Day weekend and reminded him to notify town hall with a date.

2/28 - 11 Longacre Lane - resident reported a large tree leaning over wires across from the mail box at 30 Saunders Hollow Road. Michael Gaffey checked the wires and reported the area was clear with no evidence of a leaning tree.

A motion was made by Joan Flynn to add a note regarding a dead tree to the agenda. Anne Bing seconded, all voted in favor. Motion passed.
MAIL: 5/2 - A resident reported a dead tree on McCurdy Road, about 330 yards before Johnnycake Hill Road. Mrs. DiCamillo will contact the tree warden and public works with the information.

List of young trees - Mrs. DiCamillo prepared and distributed a list of all of the young trees, a total of 35, growing in different areas of town. She divided the list among the members and asked everyone to assess each tree on the need for pruning, weeding, edging and mulching and inspect the trees for signs of gypsy moth caterpillars.
After a discussion, the members agreed to pull all weeds growing around the base of the trees, leaving a large enough ring where mulch can be applied. The chairman asked everyone to e-mail her with their evaluations.

Police Station tree - Michael Gaffey volunteered to expand the mulch ring around the ornamental cherry tree. There are two areas where the roots are exposed above the ground. He will cut out an oval to include those roots, purchase the mulch and will be reimbursed from the budget.
Regular member vacancy – Mrs. DiCamillo has recommended alternate member Joan Flynn to fill the regular member vacancy on the commission.
